When interviewing players or teams of a school athlete program, few policies must be taken into concern. Interviews may be conducted before the game and also after as well as in both the occurrences, i.e. pre-match interviews and post-match interviews. Correspondingly, two major interview policies that should be considered when covering for such events are as follows.1. Obtaining required permissions from the coaches of the teams and other authoritative bodies (if applicable) (Bowl Championship Series, “Interview policies”)2.

The mode of the interview and the medium of publication must be conveyed to the authoritative bodies (Bowl Championship Series, “Interview policies”)Contextually, both these policies reward certain advantages to protect the interests of the athletes and the organizer group, by maintaining data confidentiality. At the same time, these policies also ensure that adequate information regarding the program is delivered to the stakeholders. It is in this context that both these policies hold considerable significance in media interviewing for school-athletic teams.

These policies also advocate the significance of conducting an informed interview with the athletic teams, after obtaining due permission from the concerned authoritative bodies. Accordingly, the policies of the school authority for a different group of athletes may differ along with the different forms of reporting medium used in the interview process. Hence, the applicability of these policies differ from one another; although, the significance of either of these policies are unignorable (Bowl Championship Series, “Interview policies”; Helitzer).

In comparison to the two interview policies selected, the policy of “Obtaining required permissions from the coaches of the teams and other authoritative bodies (if applicable)” can be considered as more preferable. It is fundamentally owing to the fact that this particular policy directs the effective completion of the interview process at every stage and also confirms the integrity of the procedure, where the other interview policy of conveying the mode of the interview and the medium of publication to the authoritative bodies.
