The scope of the analysis will be grounded on providing a critical analysis on the presentation of issues by the articles and the pros and cons of each paper. Presentation of Issues When evaluating the existing similarities between the two papers in terms of presentation of issues it can be stated that, both papers have actually presented ideas/ issues in a logical manner. When looking at the article on ‘’emotion in the workplace’’ the issues have been presented using a rational sequence whereby ideas are not mixed up, thus a reader can easily grasp the ideas presented. The article of ‘’ creativity’’ has also demonstrated a logical flow of ideas. In addition, both papers have effectively provided explanations for the ideas introduced in each paragraph. The existence of an executive summary in both papers also demonstrates that the authors provided an overview of the paper thus making it easily understandable. Another similarity between the two articles is that they have both used other research findings to support the ideas presented. By providing research backing for the ideas presented, the papers indicate that the issues discussed are valid and have also been proven by other scholars. In addition, citing the ideas from other scholars also offers more understanding on the how the issues of emotions in the workplace and creativity influence organizational behavior. Also the content presented or the arguments presented by the two articles can easily be understood. When reading the first article on emotions in the workplace, a reader can quickly grasp the ideas that the author is trying to present based on the fact that statements are well presented and explanations offered. The article on creativity can also be effectively understood due to precise statements sand explanations offered. The existing differences in terms of presentation of ideas is that the article on ‘’emotion in the workplace’’ has presented a more precise reflective report as opposed to the article on creativity. The article on emotions in the workplace has provided a practical experience of what people experience in the real workplace environment. On the other hand, the article on creativity does not provide more precise examples of the work environment in order to demonstrate how the individual / individuals have experienced creativity in their workplace. Coverage of the Study Issue In terms of coverage of issues it can be stated that both articles have effectively covered the issue of organizational behavior. The article on emotions in the workplace discloses the fact that the events that take place in the workplace influence the emotions of the employees which further influence the behavior of the employees. The article on creativity on the other hand demonstrates how organizations have opened up to encourage creativity in the organization through the use of diverse workforce. Both articles have therefore tackled the issue of organizational behavior effectively. Also, the articles offer workable proposals that can be adopted by organizations in order to handle the challenges that emerge when dealing with the issues under discussion. For instance; the article on creativity in the workplace proposes the need for motivating the employees as a significant aspect in enhancing creativity. On the hand the article on emotions in the workplace suggests that managers are required to take a leading role in managing the emotions of employees (Ashkanasy and Daus, 2002). Pros and cons of the Articles There are various merits and demerits that have been presented by the two articles. When looking at the article of emotions in the workplace, one of the benefits is that the paper has mentioned a useful theory that can be used in understanding the issue of emotions in the workplace. As argued by Petter, (2007) a theory is useful in providing explanation and understanding of reality. The article discusses the Affective Events Theory a key theory that influences emotion in the workplace. The theory is well discussed in relations to how events in the work environment influence the emotions of the employees. The benefit of the paper on creativity in the workplace is that it provides relevant information on the creativity in the workplace. It is essential that information presented when researching a particular should present information that is relevant (Haisler, 2011). Although the paper does not present a theory that expounds on the issue of creativity in the organization, nevertheless the topics covered on the issue of creativity are relevant in providing an understanding of reality in the workplace. The demerit of the article on emotions in the workplace is that although the paper provides a reflection of real workplace experiences, however, the articles handles the area of the Affective Events Theory (AET), widely as opposed to other areas of the paper. This basically implies that there are topics that were minimally covered, yet they would have been significant in understanding the concept of emotions in the workplace. It is usually important to cover all areas at a balanced level in order to avoid leaving out any significant information. Therefore, the article would have discussed the theoretical aspect minimally in order to provide a balanced discussion for other issues. The demerit of the article on creativity in the workplace is that by not providing a real work experience reflection, the paper does not show how creativity occurs in the work environment. The authors manly concentrate on generalized issue that take place in the organization. It is however important for a reflective paper to present real work experiences of the writer in order to show that the writer understands the concepts discussed in the paper. Conclusion The above discussion has presented a comparative analysis of two articles covering the topics of emotions in the workplace and creativity. Some of the similarities highlighted include the fact that both papers provide precise understanding of the issue of organizational behavior. In addition the issues are presented in a logical manner. Furthermore, the authors provide scholarly backing for their ideas. The main existing difference is that the article on creativity does not effectively provide real work reflections while the article on emotions in the workplace provides a real work reflection.
