The diverse cultures, backgrounds, and religions were a challenge that I cannot forget. There are particular ways that people behave depending on their background. Some bodily gestures are interpreted differently, an issue that can be quite embarrassing at times. I remember waving to some Asians, when I was still new, a sign that was meant to be positive but was interpreted very rudely by the same friends. I however came to learn and appreciate the cultural difference.

In the United States, I have come to experience some challenges in religion. In my home country, religion is freely expressed in institutions of learning and in other public places, a matter prohibited by American law. This is an issue that made think negatively of the country and take the country to be against the conventional religions. I however came to learn that it was in the best interest of the citizens as it reduced the chances of religions going against each other.

Above the various challenges that I came across, I cannot regret having decided to school in America as the knowledge I have gained, in and out of class, is indispensable. I can now relate to virtually any person and can survive in so many countries. My mind has been opened up to cultural diversification.
