ANNONATED BIBLIOGRAPHY al Affiliation ANNONATED BIBLIOGRAPHY Gilly, M. . It doesnt come easily: overcoming obstacles to technology use within a resistant consumer group. Journal of Consumer Affairs, 46(1), 62-89. It is an article by Gilly published at the Wiley online library. The journal doesn’t provide room for more research as the researcher is in agreement that the senior citizens are willing to learn the technology. The literature review provided is complete with the summary and all information required by the research making it easy to understand the study. A knowledge gap was identified in older individuals’ resistance to using the technology. Methods of research on the other hand included the use of interviews and surveys of consumers that are sixty-five years older which are in line with the previous research. I find it interesting about how the older generation is enthusiastic about the new technologies and willing to learn. In Gil-Pechua?n, I. (2013). Strategies in e-business. Positioning and social networking in online markets. Springer publishes the book. It tries to examine the importance of social networking program to the success of the organizations. However, it provides for more research as to if the companies will make the most out of the best opportunity presented to them. The review is more than inclusive to give the necessary insights required in the research. The methodology was limited to the use of case studies that concurred with the previous research criteria. However, gaps have existed on how companies can improve their productivity. Nonetheless, it is quite important if firms could implement the social networking program that makes them more efficient rather than major on other plans that will cost them more money. Kaur, S., & Taha, S. R. (2011). Comparison of evaluation on ICT requirement for senior citizens and single mothers based on conceptual knowledge sharing framework. International Conference on Management (ICM 2011) Proceeding. Retrieved from http://www.internationalconference.com.my/proceeding/icm2011_proceeding/012_122_I CM2011_PG0137_0148_ICT_REQUIREMENT.pdf The primary author of the article is Taur and was published at the UM library at the University of Malaysia. It evaluates on the challenges that senior citizens face while using computers and specific models they aspire. However, it provides for more research on to how society can maximize the opportunities that technology offers to the citizens that are in line with the other writers. The research review is much more extensive and provides easier thoughtful of the study. The methodology for research was majorly by surveys, but previous investigations included the use of samples and interviews. In addition, it is imperative if the research can find solutions to easier ways on how senior citizens benefit from the improved technology. Lehrman, S. (2010). Dialing in Mobile phones targets the worlds non reading poor. Sci. Amer. 296, (5), 3031. It is an article by Sally Lehman published at the research gate. The study examines how computer developments have affected the socio-economic development of the poor within the society. The methods are in line with other previous studies on how illiteracy impacts on individuals. However, it provides a window for other research since there is a lot of a challenge as to the use of the new technology. The review was more detailed and offered cleared understanding of the research. The methodology was majorly determined by an ethnographic study that employed interviews and participants observations that were common to the researchers. It is interesting however on how ignorance in the use of the computing inhibits interaction among individuals. Lorence, D. P., & Park, H. (2006). New technology and old habits: The role of age as a technology chasm. Technology and Health Care: Official Journal of the European Society of Engineering and Medicine, 14(2), 91-99. The article was published by the national library of medicine. It analyzes on how computer literacy and internet being a health care resource for the elderly. However, there exists a gap in the use of internet between the young and older generation promoting more research. The authors agree that, the use of the internet is diverse while the majority is not making proper use of it. The review is quite complete and helps recognize the study. The methodology was limited to stratify sampling that has been common to the previous researchers and is used to explore the study again. Moreover, it is worthwhile to note that the older generation can make good use of the internet and not the young. Wong, Y. C., Chen, H., Lee, V. W., Fung, J. Y., & Law, C. K. (2014). Empowerment of Senior Citizens via the Learning of Information and Communication Technology. Ageing International, 39(2), 144-162. The article is published online by Springer and business media New York. It examines on how senior members of the society can be included into the digital world and not the young alone. It provides more research on to how the various positives of the use of the internet and computer by the older persons are being missed. The review is very much in depth and provides more insight analysis of the study hence making the reader to comprehend it better. Case studies were the key methodology in the research which was offered by other previous examinations. Furthermore, it is important to note on how we can empower the older generation by use of computers and internet. Braun, A., Roelofsma, P. H., Ferring, D., & Immonen, M. (2012).
